Vancouver based producer, On Planets, formerly known by his earth name, Sean Wharton, has remixed Pegboard Nerds, ‘Emoji,’ and it captures the vast array of emotions these little addictive digital characters display.
While the original by Pegboard Nerds is comprised of heavy, grooving baselines and chopped synth melodies that ride a wave of emotional munchkin like vocals; the On Planets’ rework summons more of a serene feel.
As hints of lullaby inconspicuously sift in, softer vocals compliment this sound giving this a more calming feel. You almost picture this as if the sleep emoji with the ‘zzzz’ is softly serenading you with this tune.
