In an Industry that takes everything out of you, it’s sometimes hard to think about giving back. At times it can often feel like there is nothing left to give; which is why, when you come across those rare acts of charity- it reminds you that there is still faith in the industry.
Which brings us to Next Wave Records, an emerging label hosting an impressive roster of up & comers that is restoring our faith in humanity. Among these up & comers, are the recently acclaimed duo, Louis The Child. Their single ‘It’s Strange ft K. Flay’ quickly gained traction when Taylor Swift tweeted the hit in a list she labeled: “New Songs That Will Make Your Life Better.”
The success of the hit is testament to the talent comprising Next Wave, which is why they have decided to release 21 remixes of ‘It’s Strange’ for only $4. All of which will be donated to Kiva, a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty.
The remix that garnered our attention most comes from San Diego native, Rambo V. Known for his tasteful production style, he has given ‘ It’s Strange’ a colorful twist. Chopped synths ride the seductive vocals of K Flay. Hints of Reggaeton comb through a downtempo beat that holds the integrity of the original whilst adding a Rambo V flare. We definitely dig.
